INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

MIDWEEK CLASSES – A decision to close due to inclement weather will be made by 2:00 pm from the Director of Education and the Executive Director. The voice mail for the main office, as well as the Religious School Office, will be changed to reflect the cancellation. Whenever possible, this information will also be posted on the web site and e-mailed out to the congregation. We will try to broadcast cancellations over radio station WTOP 103.5 FM and News4/NBC4 television.* WTOP also lists all delays on their website, www.wtopnews.com.

SUNDAY CLASSES – On Sunday mornings, a decision (including the possibility of a delayed opening) will be made by 7:00 am by the Rabbi and Director of Education. The voice mail for the main office, as well as the Religious School Office, will be changed to reflect the closing/delayed opening. Whenever possible, this information will also be posted on the web site and e-mailed to the congregation. We will try to broadcast the cancellation over radio station WTOP 103.5 FM and News4/NBC4 television.* WTOP also lists all delays on their website, www.wtopnews.com.

In the event of missed days due to inclement weather, the school reserves the right to add additional school days to the school year. This decision will be made by the Education Committee to consider adding additional school days at the end of the year.

*Recognizing that severe weather conditions often affect Internet service, it may not always be feasible to post the delayed opening/closing or cancellation on our web site or to send out the notification by congregational e-mail. However, every effort will be made to take these steps whenever possible.
