Brotherhood & Bagels with Mike Meyerheim, COO The Lone Soldier Center in Israel

"Lone Soldier - a foreign volunteer in the IDF who comes to serve despite having no family in Israel"

The Lone Soldier Center provides meals, support, advice, a family and community to thousands of lone soldiers every year.  The JTA reported in April 2012 that there were an "estimated 5,000” Lone Soldiers. About 40% of them serve in combat units and many volunteer twice; once to just be in the IDF and then again to qualify for and serve in a more elite unit like the paratroopers. RSVP to [email protected].

Networking & Nosh--Postponed

"Networking & Nosh," our career counseling and networking program scheduled for Wednesday, has been postponed.  We will circulate a notice when a new date is selected.  In the interim, any college student or post graduates interested in getting career advice or networking assistance in his or her field of interest from a congregant in that field may contact Amanda Katz ([email protected]) and we will endeavor to find a program volunteer or other congregant willing to provide guidance.
