As B'nai Mitzvah Coordinator since 1999, Liane sees to it that each and every child in our program works to their full potential to prepare and participate in our services on the day they become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Here at B'nai Tzedek, we set our goals very high for the students and there are many facets to our program, including teaching the basics of tefillot melodies, Hebrew reading, Torah and Haftarah chanting, studying their parashot and instilling in our young congregants a sense of community and belonging. She works closely with Cantor Kapell, Gail Friedman, and a group of extremely gifted tutors to attain these goals.

Liane grew up locally in Potomac, and attended Churchill High School and the University of Maryland where she graduated with a degree in Journalism and Public Relations and married her college sweetheart, Bryan. Liane works closely with students and their families at this special time in their lives. With the encouragement and mentoring of Rabbi Weinblatt and Cantor Kapell, she has studied and grown in knowledge and skill and enjoys sharing the benefits of her studies with the students and adults of our congregation.
